A Guide to Off (Sónar) Week Barcelona 2018

Plaza MayorOne of the biggest electronic music festivals will hit Barcelona once again in just a few weeks, and this year’s event is set to be bigger than ever! Between 14th – 16th June, the 25th edition of Sónar Festival will bring top DJ’s, live acts, visual art displays and cool expos to the Catalan capital.

However, the fun doesn’t stop there! For those who can’t make the official Sónar dates, or for those who simply don’t fancy going to the main festival, Off Week brings an endless amount of techno/electronic music events to different venues across the city… for a full week! Between 11th – 17th June, Barcelona will be host to an array of top events including boat parties, outdoor day festivals, special club nights and rooftop terrace parties… the possibilities are endless!

Off Week Barcelona: Our top picks by day and night

Monday 11/05/18

Event: City Hall presents TBA: Toni Campo, Bastian Varga, Andres Bux

Monday

Venue: City Hall

Time: 00:00 – 06:00

Info: TBA, a newcomer to the scene, will make their debut appearance on the Monday of Off Week at City Hall, located on Rambla de Catalunya. Their project is based around presenting three random DJs that play their sets in a random order with a mixture of different electronic music styles!

 

Tuesday 12/05/18

Day Event: Totum Music Showcase: Off Week 2018

Venue: TBA

Time: 18:00 – 00:00

Info: Totum Music brings an Off Week event with a slight twist. At this showcase, there will be an art exhibition, live electronic music and plenty of craft beer to go around. A handful of both national and international artists will come together for this incredible event, and what’s more, it’s free entry!

 

Tuesday

Night Event: R33 Odd Recordings ft Oddyssey by Ramiro Lopez & Arjun Vagale

Venue: R33

Time: 23:30 – 05:45

Info: R33 in Barcelona will once again bring some amazing events to Off-week this year! On this particular night, expect top DJ’s such as Arjun Vagale, Ramiro Lopez and Dave Sinner to take centre stage in this much-loved techno venue.

 

Wednesday 13/05/18

Event: tINI and the Gang: Open Air BarcelonaWednesday

Venue: Hotel Vila Olímpic@ Rooftop

Time: 14:00 – 00:00

Info: Barcelona is known for its abundance of rooftops, so why not ease into Off-week with an open-air hotel rooftop party hosted by tINI and her gang? Hotel Vila Olímpic@ will play host to this party, and it’s also been chosen as one of Resident Advisor’s top picks – don’t miss out!

 

Night Event: Joris Voorn presents Spectrum

Venue: Pacha

Time: 00:00 – 05.45

Info: Pacha will welcome Joris Voorn to the stage on the Wednesday night of Off Week, amongst other top DJs such as Kölsch, Patrice Baumel and B.Straits. Why not party the night away in one of Barcelona’s most famous nightclubs?

 

Thursday 14/05/18

ThursdayDay Event: It’s All About The Music

Venue: Plaza Mayor de El Poble Espanyol

Time: 16:00 – 00:00

Info: Much-loved DJ, Marco Carola, returns once again to Barcelona to bring the sounds of the summer to Poble Espanyol. Joining him is Barcelona-native Paco Osuna, along with Shonky, Dan, and Dyed, who collaborate to make up the house trio, Apollonia. This is an event definitely not worth missing!

 

Night Event: Warriors Do Not Sleep: Open Air

Venue: La Terrazza

Time: 23:45 – 06:00

Info: Do Not Sleep is a popular Ibiza brand curated by Electric Ibiza that will collaborate with Barcelona’s top open air club this summer to bring featured artists such as Darius Syrossian, Steve Lawler and Anja Schneider to the Catalan capital!

 

Friday 15/05/18

Day Event: SecretSundazeFriday

Venue: Carpa & Picnic Poble Espanyol

Time: 14:00 – 00:00

Info: SecretSundaze will bring hours and hours of sun-kissed house, techno, disco and much more to the Carpa & Picnic area of Poble Espanyol. Big names like Joy Orbison and Dekmantel Soundsystem will take centre stage at this much-loved event. This year’s edition will be managed by the same company who manage Brunch Electronik, DGTL festival and Hivernacle, so it’s set to be one of the top events at Off-week this year!

 

Night Event: Do Not Sit on Flying Circus: Open air

Venue: La Terrazza

Time: 23:45 – 06:30

Info: Global electronic brands Flying Circus and Do Not Sit On The Furniture will team up to bring Audiofly, Andhim, Be Svendsen and Behrouz to La Terrazza on the Friday night of Off-week!

 

Saturday 16/05/18

SaturdayDay Event: Drumcode

Venue: Plaza Mayor de El Poble Espanyol

Time: 16:00 – 00:00

Info: Plaza Mayor will become the ideal setting for Adam Beyer’s techno label, Drumcode, to host their Off Week takeover. With Joseph Capriati by his side, amongst other top acts such as Pan-pot and Paganini taking the stage, this event is set to be an unforgettable one!

 

Night Event: Ricardo Villalobos Does Frrc

Venue: Green Area – Parc del Fòrum

Time: 16:00 – 03:00

Info: On June 16th, Ricardo Villalobos’ annual Frrc party will meet the Green Area of one of Barcelona’s top event venues, Parc del Fórum, hosting Craig Richards, Nicolas Lutz, Margaret Dygas and many more.

 

Sunday 17/05/18

Day Event: elrow Off WeekSunday

Venue: elrow – Castelldefels, Viladecans.

Time: 11:00 – 23:00

Info: It’s the one you’ve all been waiting for! Elrow has rapidly become one of the most recognisable clubbing brands and institutions in the world since its emergence from its humble abode in Viladecans area. With huge names in the electronic music scene such as Eats Everything, wAFF and Toni Varga blessing the colourful venue on Sunday 17th, this is the most anticipated event of Off Week!

 

Night Event: Fuse Barcelona

Venue: INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club

Time: 22:00 – 06:00

Info: Following last year’s sold-out event, Fuse will return to INPUT for a Sunday night rave into the early hours of the morning. This year’s event will welcome Enzo Siragusa, Archie Hamilton, Seb Zito and Rich NxT to the much-loved nightclub, located in Poble Espanyol.
