Barcelona is home to stretches of beautiful beaches, mountainous areas, winding labyrinth-like streets and above all, incredible architecture, making it a favourite city break/holiday destination of many. For the adrenaline junkies amongst us, Barcelona also boast plenty of options when it comes to adventurous activities. Be sure to add some of these to your checklist when visiting the city and reveal your adventurous side!

Barcelona is well known for its warm climate and fascinating beaches. However, if playing volleyball or sunbathing is not enough to fill your travel diary then not to worry, as there are plenty more fun activities that you can sink your teeth into!

What’s more, Barcelona is surrounded by many other seaside towns such as Sitges, Montgat or Premià de Mar, where you can find even more water sport opportunities!
Bungee Jumping and Skydiving
For the super adventurous amongst us, there are plenty of opportunities to fly through the Barcelona’s blue skies, offering an interesting alternative of seeing the city from above. However, this is not limited to simply taking an aeroplane ride, as that wouldn’t be exciting enough!

Adventure Parks
If you want to bring a bit of adventure to your time in Barcelona, but jumping out of a plane isn’t quite for you, why not try out one of Barcelona’s adventure parks? They’re a great way to spend the day whether it’s with friends, family, or simply with your other half.
The best part about adventure parks is that the possibilities are endless. Zip-wire through the trees, flying from branch to branch, do an orienteering course with a group of friends, abseil down a rock or wall, and join in on many more exciting activities! There are lots of adventure parks located around Barcelona that are easily accessible and offer all of the above options, check out companies such as Bosc Tancat, Catalunya en Miniatura and Kokopelli Experience.Activ Natura offers other activities that are slightly more out of the ordinary, such as forest laser tag and human-table football!
Theme Parks
Barcelona’s top amusement parks will be sure to impress any theme park lover! Tibidabo mountain offers incredible views over Barcelona and is also home to Tibidabo Amusement Park, one of the oldest theme parks in Europe. The park offers an array of quirky rides such as vintage carousels, mini-trains and the famous multicoloured ferris wheel, and makes the perfect day out for families with younger children! PortAventura World is slightly further away from Barcelona city centre, although can easily be reached via train. Situated by the popular holiday resort of Salou, this theme park attracts around 5 million visitors a year and offers some of the best attractions, including the 1st and 3rd tallest rollercoasters in Europe! However, if you prefer waterparks, be sure to check out Illa Fantasia. Located in Vilassar de Dalt, Premià de Mar, just 30km away from Barcelona, this water park offers 18 attractions, 7 swimming pools as well as plenty of gardens to relax or sunbathe.
