Spring has finally arrived in Barcelona, and that also means that the Brunch- in the City season has begun. Whilst this type of brunch is very different to what you may expect, we can guarantee that you’ll enjoy it just as much and that Sunday might just become your new favourite day of the week…
What is Brunch- In Barcelona?
Brunch- In Barcelona is an events company responsible for some of Barcelona’s top techno music parties throughout spring and summer. Their events are loved by locals and tourists alike and are known for bringing music lovers together, along with both national and international DJs and artists. You can also find various street food stalls offering plenty of tasty treats to keep you fuelled up as you party your way into the evening!
Where is Brunch in the City held?
Brunch- in the City, the company’s springtime party, takes place in the impressive open-air Plaza Mayor of El Poble Espanyol, the ideal spot to enjoy a day party in the sun with your friends! El Poble Espanyol is a little model village that sits atop Montjuïc and is open to visitors during the day to explore its winding passaeways, whilst at night, it plays host to various events and festivals. Brunch- In Barcelona always ensures that the emblematic square is decorated with colourful signs, a funky stage, picnic bench areas, food spots and plenty of bar tents! This year, however, the Brunch team have decided to mix things up a little – on two specific dates the party will relocate for the day. On 8th April and 13th May, Brunch- in the City will take place at the Petit Ampitheatre del Mar at Parc del Fórum, another top event spot in Barcelona.
2018 Lineup
The organisers of Brunch- in the City have once again curated a fantastic lineup, featuring some of the biggest names in the electronic music genre. Top DJs such as Robert Hood, Maya Jane Coles, Mount Kimbie and Larry Heard are just a few of the big names that will step up onto the Brunch stage this season. For further information about lineups and event dates, check out Brunch- In Barcelona’s official website, or facebook page.
Family Friendly Fun!
Brunch- in the City is not only an event for young twentysomethings looking to party, it’s also a great family friendly event, especially during the afternoon hours. Petit Brunch is an area of the festival designed specifically for the little ones, where they can enjoy plenty of fun activities, games and workshops… a fun weekend outing for the whole family!
Looking after the Environment
Another great thing to note about Brunch- In Barcelona’s events is that they most definitely do their bit for the environment! They have an initiative where you purchase a plastic cup for €1 at the start of the day and use this for your drinks throughout the event. Then, once the cup is returned at the end, you are refunded your money and the cup can be used for future events. Or, if you prefer, you may keep the cup as a memory of the party – just don’t chuck it away! Additionally, straws are not given out at the event for environmental purposes. It’s nice to see that Brunch- In Barcelona are doing their part to help look after the planet!
