The Ultimate Guide to Hen Parties in Barcelona!

Junggesellinnenabschied Barcelona

A hen party is the best excuse to get your best friends together and jet off on a European city break for the weekend, and Barcelona is definitely up there as one of the best locations to do just that!  We’ve created the ultimate guide on how to spend a hen party in Barcelona… Bridesmaids – take notes!

Fun Things to do

Barcelona is a city full of incredible architecture, amazing gastronomy and so much to do, so sometimes it’s difficult to fit it all into one weekend…(a great excuse to come back another time we say!) So here are some fun activity ideas to keep you entertained in the Catalan capital.

RembrandtCocktail making at Rembrandt Café

No hen party is complete without cocktails! Practice your shaking skills at a 2 hour masterclass with a professional mixologist. You will be led to an exclusive VIP area/bar where you will learn to make your favourite cocktail classics. Pair your drinks at Rembrandt Café with some delicious bites to eat too!

Carrer de la Marina, 20, 08005 Barcelona

Sightseeing Bus Tour

Barcelona is a huge city with so much to explore, but can sometimes get tiring on foot. Take advantage of the Barcelona Bus Turístic tours, offering 3 routes focusing on different parts of the city, stopping by all the best sights. The service allows you to hop on and off the bus to look around attractions such as the Sagrada Família, Montjuïc, Casa Batlló and Park Güell! Hop on board…

Cooking ClassCook&Taste

Whilst in a city renowned for its gastronomy, why not try a cooking class? Barcelona is overflowing with cooking classes for groups of friends, family or couple, so if you want to impress your nearest and dearest with some new culinary skills, or just have a giggle with your friends whilst creating some delicious (or perhaps not!) dishes, we recommend you check out bcnKITCHEN, Cook&Taste or Martas Paella Class.

Hit The Clubs!

Barcelona is home to endless bars and clubs, many of them being on the beachfront such as Pacha, Shôko and Opium. However, El Born and the Gothic Quarter are key locations if you’re looking for cosy bars to enjoy cocktails and a vibrant atmosphere. Some of our favourites are The Lime House, Pax 49, Dux Borne and Rubi Bar.

BeachRelax on the beach

Barcelona’s warm weather begins around April and often lasts until late October, so hitting the beach can definitely be on the agenda if you’re planning your hen party within these months. The beach also makes the perfect spot to enjoy the summer sunset with your best friends! Soak up the sun before grabbing some patatas bravas and a cooling cocktail in a nearby chiringuito beach bar.

Rooftop Terrace Bars

So you’ve seen the sights of the city on foot, why not enjoy the views of Barcelona from above (perhaps with a drink in hand)? This city is known for having some of the best rooftop bars and restaurants where you can relax and take in the panoramic cityscape and views of the Mediterranean Sea.

La Isabela @ Hotel 1898Isabela Rooftop Bar

Situated very centrally on Las Ramblas, La Isabela is one of the best-rated rooftop bars in the city. With an extensive menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks to share and incredible panoramic views of the city, you can’t go wrong in this trendy rooftop spot. They also serve an incredible breakfast menu on the rooftop during the summer months!

La Rambla, 109, 08002 Barcelona

La Terrassa de les Indianes – 1881 per Sagardi

Perched on the top of the Museu d’Història de Catalunya, 1881 (as it’s also known) is a rooftop restaurant that also boasts a contemporary terrace cocktail bar overlooking Port Vell.  La Terrassa de les Indianes offers exceptional views of the city’s skyline as well as being a place where you can enjoy a creative and extensive cocktail menu with snacks to share. They sometimes have a DJ playing live music and if you’re feeling hungry, have your dinner in the restaurant before heading to the bar to enjoy an after dinner drink. The views over the Port are unbeatable.

Plaça de Pau Vila, 3, 08003 Barcelona

The Terraza @ Hotel OmmHotel Omm

A unique and trendy space with incredible views of the Sagrada Família, Casa Milà and the lights of Montjuïc. Although it’s exclusive for hotel guests during the daytime, as summer approaches, Hotel Omm’s terrace welcomes visitors during the evening, giving you the ideal opportunity to celebrate the hen party weekend away with dinner and a cocktail outdoors al fresco accompanied by live music.

Carrer del Rosselló, 265, 08008 Barcelona

Spas

After all this excitement, you’ll be in need of some extreme relaxation. Leave your L-plates and feather boas at home for this part and escape to a world of ultimate rejuvenation in some of the most relaxing and chic spas in Barcelona – perfect for the morning after the night before!

Rambla 130Rambla130

Situated on Las Ramblas, as its name so rightly states, Rambla 130 is an urban spa that offers a variety of treatments such as facials, manicures and massages. Its central location means you can enjoy a calm oasis in the heart of the city – treat yourselves!

La Rambla de Canaletes, 130 3º-1ª 08002 Barcelona

Aire de Barcelona

Find yourself in a haven of massages, facials and thermal baths at Aire de Barcelona, a tranquil spa where your relaxation is of the highest priority. Here, you can also enjoy a glass of cava and chocolates whilst being pampered – what could be a better activity on a hen party trip away.

Passeig de Picasso, 22, 08003 Barcelona

Spa1850Spa 1850

The facilities and treatments available at Spa 1850 will make you feel brand new. Relax in a warm and bubbly Jacuzzi, or unwind and get ride of those toxins in the dry sauna. Whatever you choose to do, your whole body is sure to feel rejuvenated afterwards!

Brunch

When you’re feeling a little worse for wear after a night of celebration (which could have something to do with the cava), brunch is often the only answer and is sure to become an extremely important factor of your hen party weekend in Barcelona. From eggs benedict to smoked salmon bagels, avocado galore, pancakes piled high, coffee on tap (practically) and the all-important mimosas, you really can’t go wrong with brunch in Barcelona. These are some of our top brunch picks for your hen weekend:

MilkMilk

Situated within the winding streets of the Gothic Quarter, Milk is a cosy brunch spot that’s not to be missed! The menu offers a variety of different brunch dishes varying from stacks of American pancakes, bagels topped with your favourite ingredients and eggs in every way possible. If you’re staying in Eixample or prefer al fresco dining, Firebug is Milk’s sister restaurant which has an almost identical menu. Top tip, the Mediterranean Toast is to die for!

Milk:Carrer d’en Gignàs, 21, 08002 Barcelona

Firebug: Passeig de Sant Joan, 23, 08010 Barcelona

Alsur Café

With branches in both Eixample and El Born, Alsur Café is a favourite of many. Their signature ‘brunchtails’ make it the perfect spot for an afternoon brunch and their deli branches also offer a takeout option. Their menu consists of yummy waffles and pancakes, brunch classics and dishes with a twist. Trust us, you won’t go hungry! What’s more, Alsur is also a bar so it’s the ideal place to continue with cocktails!

Eixample: Carrer de Roger de Llúria, 23, 08010 Barcelona

El Born: Plaça de Sant Cugat, 08003 Barcelona

El Born: Carrer de Sant Pere Més Alt, 4, 08003 Barcelona

TrópicoTropico

Fluffy pancakes with forest fruits, huevos rancheros and eggs benedict are some of the many delicious dishes found at Trópico. Situated in the Poble Sec district, this brunch spot has a contemporary and relaxing vibe, making it the perfect place to start your day. Trópico is also great in terms of healthier brunch options, including yummy fresh juices and smoothies! Perhaps a good hangover cure…

Carrer del Marquès de Barberà, 24, 08001 Barcelona
