Clubbing in Barcelona – A Day by Day Guide

Opium Mar, Barcelona

Opium Mar, Barcelona

Last Updated: 23/10/2017

There’s no doubt that Barcelona has some of the best nightlife in Europe. After darkness falls the Catalan capital becomes an unrivaled club scene providing locals and visitors alike with wild parties, top tunes and flowing drinks. Anyone who has hit the Olympic Port strip will attest that one night underneath the flashing multicolored lights, dancing to the hottest tracks, and rubbing shoulders with Barcelona’s beautiful people is enough to get you forever hooked on the exciting club lifestyle in this city.

Because every club in Barcelona is unique, and because many of these discotheques have special “must attend” nights each week, the true question to be considered before scheduling your nighttime revelry is: Which club should it be tonight? So to help you out, we’ve put together a day-by-day guide of the best nights for clubbing in Barcelona and where to do it. Just be sure to leave plenty of time for siestas if you plan on tackling this list in one week!

MONDAY: Nasty Mondays at Sala ApoloNasty Mondays, Apolo

To most people, the arrival of Monday means the end of the weekend and getting back to the long grind of the workweek. However, to those in Barcelona, Monday is synonymous with one of the top fiestas of the ‘semana’. For almost ten years, partygoers have been flocking to Nasty Mondays for an opportunity to extend their weekend and rock out at one of Barcelona’s coolest spots.

Upon entering Sala Apolo, you will be welcomed by three separate club sections, each with a unique feel. The two giant dance floors located on the first and second levels play a variety of your favorite tunes from today’s chart hits, to some original rock ‘n’ roll classics. The final section is located on the third level and exists as a large balcony, perfect for those wanting to grab a drink while overlooking the craziness of the night. Overall, Nasty Mondays at Sala Apolo is the perfect cure for anyone with a bad case of “the Mondays”.

Apartment Barcelona Tip: Make sure you book your tickets online and avoid the long entry queue!

TUESDAY: Razzmatazz presents Razz and Bounce

Regardless of size, almost every club is limited to some extent by space. The world-renowned Razzmatazz club in Barcelona, on the other hand, is seemingly endless. This enormous warehouse-turned-club boasts five different sections across three different levels. From retro-punk to electronic house, every section of this club offers a separate genre of music and a different atmosphere.

Although every night at Razzmatazz is sure be an unforgettable experience, Tuesday night’s event, Razz and Bounce, is a party you’re not going to want to miss. This wild spectacle features live electronic music from the best DJs in Barcelona, packed dance floors and vibrant light shows… not to mention the incredible energy always present at this awesome venue!

If live music is what you’re after, roll over to Jamboree for a guaranteed good time. Jamboree Jazz offers visitors the opportunity to sample a variety of quality live music ranging from reggae to indie, and of course jazz. This club is located near the iconic Las Ramblas and brings in a very diverse crowd, all gathering to enjoy the eclectic atmosphere every Wednesday night.

Don’t be fooled by the chilled-out feel here, however, because once the live tunes come to a close the party really starts. Enjoy different styles of music mixed with some of your favorite electronic sounds and dance the night away on the sizable dance floor. The combination of live music and post-performance raving, along with countless other reasons, explains why Jamboree is the place to be on a Wednesday night in Barcelona.

THURSDAY: Soho

Once Thursday night rolls around in Barcelona, it seems the nightlife energy is turned up to an all-time high. With professionals and university students anxiously awaiting the weekend, Thursdays have become notorious for some wild times. And which club plays host to the liveliest Thursday night parties? Soho.

Located in the center of Barcelona, Soho is surrounded by a variety of pubs and bars perfect for a pre-club drink. Upon entering you’ll see a lavish decor and comfortable seating, which adds to the club’s classy feel. The entrance hall opens up to a large dance section complete with dynamic light shows, all of your favorite club tunes, and an elevated surface perfect for showing off your moves. The fun crowd, relatively inexpensive drinks, and the ability to obtain free entry through guest lists make Soho the ideal club in Barcelona to visit every Thursday night.
