There are plenty of swimming pools in Barcelona to choose from, whether you’re looking for a quick splash or some all-day fun in the sun. Read on to find out which ones we recommend… Don’t forget the lotion!

Public Swimming Pool – Park Creueta del Coll 

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and head to Park Creueta del Coll. The swimming pool here has a tranquil and secluded feel, perfect for those looking to escape the city’s never-ending excitement. What’s more, a relaxing environment is always on offer at this Barcelona pool with the palm trees that line the edges of the shallow waters in the former quarry of El Coll swaying in the summer breeze.

We suggest making a day of it and packing some refreshing treats to enjoy in the picnic area. And if you need a break from lounging around, pick up a paddle and make your way over to one of the ping-pong tables.

Fòrum Bathing Area – Parc del Fòrum

For a truly innovative poolside experience, the bathing area at Parc del Fòrum is a great place to cool off. The Fòrum bathing area is unique in comparison to the other pools in the city as it uses water from the Mediterranean Sea, giving it that beach-y feel. The out of the ordinary and inventive nature of this new pool in Barcelona came about for the Universal Forum of Cultures and since then it has been free of charge to the public.

Looking for something a little more adventurous than lazing by the water? The Fòrum bathing area has you covered with its mechanical towrope in the center of one of the four divided sections, allowing water sport fans the chance to brush up on their wakeboarding or water skiing skills!

Centre Esportiu Municipal Piscina de Salts de Montjuïc (CEM) – Montjuïc

Whether you’re a first-timer in Barcelona or a veteran traveler to the Catalan capital, you will have most definitely heard about the magic and splendor of Montjuïc. With museums, lightshows and plenty more, it is often argued that Montjuïc is Barcelona’s most diverse attraction. What many don’t know is that this popular area is also home to one of the Barcelona’s best swimming pools: the Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc.

First opened in 1929, the pool at Montjuïc has been renovated several times over the years to host various water sport competitions. The pool’s claim to fame comes from hosting the 1992 Olympic Games, but you don’t have to be an athlete to enjoy this pool which is open to the public during the sizzling summer months. Take in some of the Barcelona sunshine on the deck, get an adrenaline rush from a high dive jump or follow in the footsteps of previous champions and swim a few laps. Don’t forget to take a moment and soak in the truly stunning panoramic views, too!

Club Natació Atlètic – Barceloneta

Just minutes from the famous Barceloneta Beach, this pool provides the perfect alternative to the crowded shoreline and sand-filled swimsuits. Get some pre-beach exercise and swim some lengths at the indoor pool. And if you’re looking to bronze up your tan, take a dip or indulge in your siesta of the day, the large outdoor pool and sundeck are the places to be.
