We\u2019ve all seen the film, but have you ever been to a real Night at the Museum<\/em>? On Saturday, 17th of May<\/strong>, Barcelona will take part in its annual Nit dels Museus<\/em>, inviting museums in Barcelona and its surrounding areas to open their doors to host a special night of exhibitions, concerts, performances, workshops, guided tours, and activities<\/span><\/a>\u2026 all for free<\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

What is the Night of the Museums?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The Night of the Museums is a cultural initiative just before International<\/strong> Museum Day<\/strong>. First launched in 1977<\/strong> by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), International Museum Day aims to raise awareness of the essential role museums play in cultural exchange, education, and the development of society.<\/p>\n

The Night of the Museums is celebrated in over 120 countries around the world<\/strong>, and in Catalonia, the areas of Barcelona<\/a>, l’Hospitalet, Badalona, Cornell\u00e0, Esplugues, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Adri\u00e0 <\/em>and Sant Joan Desp\u00ed<\/em> will be taking part.<\/p>\n\n
