Antique and Vintage Shops in Barcelona

Antique and Vintage Shops in Barcelona

Barcelona is a bold, forward-thinking city, and you only need to wander through its neighbourhoods to see it for yourself. Just look at the number of brunch spots that have popped up in Sant Antoni, or the many vegan restaurants filling the streets of El Raval—a clear reflection of a city that’s constantly evolving.

That same mindset also shows in the way people like to shop. More and more people are seeking out stores with real character and something different to offer, leaving big chain brands behind. There’s a growing desire to find one-of-a-kind pieces—something the usual shopping streets don’t always deliver. And when you finally stumble upon it, the feeling is hard to put into words. It hooks you. Goodbye predictable. Hello authentic.

Vintage shops and independent stores with a strong sense of identity are thriving across the city. Below, we share our top picks for shopping in Barcelona and discovering its most creative side.

FLEA MARKET

Thanks to Barcelona’s great Mediterranean climate, you can go antique and vintage shopping out in the streets. Flea Market is a street market held several weekends a month, where people sell second-hand items at very reasonable prices.

On their website, you can check the dates they hold the market and where it takes place (as the location usually changes).

Encants Market

Encants Market, the largest second-hand market in the city—dating back to the 14th century—is a true haven for those who love to rummage and uncover hidden treasures. You can find everything from unique pieces and absolute gems to items of little value.

The market is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. During the summer, opening hours are extended. Antique auctions take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for professional buyers, and again at 12:00 p.m., when unsold items drop in price.

If you can, try to avoid Saturdays, as they are the busiest days at the market.

Sant Antoni Sunday Market

The Sant Antoni Sunday Market is one of Barcelona’s most iconic markets, open every Sunday of the year from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. around the historic Mercat de Sant Antoni building.

Every Sunday, it hosts a market of used, antique, and out-of-print books, along with a wide range of collectibles such as postcards, stamps, comics, posters, and video games, making it one of the largest markets of its kind in Europe.

Beyond being a meeting point for book lovers and fans of traditional collectibles, the market creates a lively, cultural atmosphere in the heart of Sant Antoni, attracting both locals and visitors in search of unique finds.

Mercat de Colom Antique Market

If you’ve already been to Barcelona, chances are you’ve walked past this market many times without even noticing it.

Located at the lower end of La Rambla, next to the Christopher Columbus Monument, the Port Antic markets take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., selling vintage photographs, oil paintings, frames, vinyl records, cameras, antique toys, and other timeless treasures.

Vintage Shopping on Carrer Tallers

Right next to La Rambla, in the El Raval neighbourhood, Carrer Tallers is packed with vintage shops and record stores—perfect for anyone looking to take home something a little different from Barcelona. Our favourites include Flamingo Market Vintage, where you pay by the total weight of your finds, and Holala Vintage, a shop offering retro pieces dating back to the 1950s.

BOOMERANG

For vintage furniture lovers, Boomerang is a must. This shop offers pieces from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, with a strong focus on Scandinavian and international design, as well as classic creations prized for both their aesthetic appeal and functionality.

They offer furniture, lighting, and decorative objects with a story behind them—many of them restored—while always preserving the original character of each piece. These are not reproductions, but genuine design items with their own personality, perfect for interior design enthusiasts and projects looking for unique pieces with soul.
