Halal Food in Barcelona | Restaurants & Supermarkets

Barcelona is a dream destination for foodies, famed for its delicious selection of tapas, paella, seafood and much more.

The city is very cosmopolitan, welcoming visitors and residents from all over the world. So much so, that 1 in 5 residents here are foreigners! This makes for a delicious melting pot of cuisines and flavours, and the opportunity to experience any food that you fancy.

If you are Muslim and either visiting or living in Barcelona, there’s so many different halal food options available to you. In fact, the Catalan capital has a significant Muslim and Arab population, of both residents and tourists. So, whether it be halal-friendly restaurants or supermarkets, here’s our list of the best places to grab halal food in Barcelona.

 

Restaurants

 

Arabia Café-Restaurant

This fantastic restaurant is a fusion of Lebanese, Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisines, serving traditional Arab style food. Here you can find delicious starters such as hummus, Halloumi, falafel and pita breads, as well as meat tagines, couscous and skewers for mains. The foods are halal-friendly, but the restaurant itself still serves alcohol too. Additionally, they offer shishas here too, if you fancy it!

One of the best Indian restaurants in Barcelona, and their entire menu is halal, what more could you want! Tandoori nights offer a wide selection of classic Indian starters, such as onion bhajis and pakoras, and a range of curries with both meat and vegetarian options too. If you have a sweet tooth, they also have traditional Indian desserts, including gulab jamun and kulfis – delicious!

Teddy’s Barcelona

Teddy’s is one of the best rated restaurants in the whole of Barcelona, serving Lebanese fast food using halal meats, as well as lots of vegetarian options too. They serve hot sandwiches using freshly baked bread, that is hand rolled and cooked on a hot griddle, typically known in Lebanon as ‘saj’. Choose authentic Lebanese manakish in your wrap, or chicken, falafel, halloumi among much more.

Clue’s in the name here, this restaurant serves delicious Malaysian cuisine using meat provided by a Halal supplier. Serving stir fries, curries, noodle dishes, and much more with fresh Malaysian flavours, this is a restaurant that needs to be next on your list to visit.

Lal Qila

Offering wonderful Pakistani cuisine, using a variety of spices and flavours, along with falafel and fresh tapas, Lal Qila Barcelona is famous for its authentic Pakistani cuisine. They serve curries such as Daals, biryanis, vindaloo among many others, alongside fresh naans and roti.

Well Food Gourmet

A new and modern burger restaurant in the heart of the Gràcia neighbourhood, serving 100% halal and eco hot dogs and burgers. They also serve a delicious selection of saucy, spiced chicken wings, chips, and a variety of starters too.

If you want to cook from home, there are also many halal shops and bakeries from which you can buy halal-friendly produce. The city has many places to buy a wide variety of fresh and high-quality halal meat, traditional desserts, and more, all in one place.
