Take a break from the crazy city life and enjoy the fusion of music and greenery in Barcelona this summer until 30th August at Music in the Parks. In over 30 green spaces throughout the city, more than 50 free concerts are being offered, so there’s no reason to miss this great fusion of performance and scenery. Music in the Parks is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature while enjoying fantastic music by a hoard of artists. Organised by the Barcelona City Council, this is the best way to see some of the city’s incredible parks and a fun way to spend a summer evening.
Thanks to the Music in the Parks initiative, each summer the city’s green spaces fill with all styles of music including jazz, classical, blues, and choral offerings from various music schools and orchestras. The musicians and performers taking part have been chosen by this year’s jury and will be offering concerts in a small format.
Born more than 15 years ago, the summer concert series began with a view to bringing quality music to all audiences and to promote the presence of young performers. In addition, it encourages the use of parks around the city as a way to provide leisure summer activities and bring people together.
In order to promote the social and environmental benefits of parks and gardens, there will be guided tours (one in each district) offered for up to 35 people prior to each concert. For more information, visit Barcelona Turisme’s website
