The Best Views of Barcelona (Part 2)

In our post entitled The Best Views over Barcelona, we have a list of six great places to view the city from. However…luckily for you, this is a city with heaps to offer, which means…we’ve found a few more.  So, if you can’t see the cityscape from your apartment, no problem – head to one of these places and enjoy vistas of the Catalan capital with a cocktail in hand or camera at the ready.

Barceló Raval Hotel

If you find yourself near the Rambla de Raval, the trip up to its rooftop bar, 360 is worth the ascent. In the summer from 6pm until 1am, you can take the express lift up to the panoramic bar to enjoy a cocktail and the spectacular Barcelona sunset. The rooftop is open during the day to guests to access the pool area. The lighting is dim and the cocktails are cool. What more could you want?

Rambla del Raval, 17-21, 08001 Barcelona

The Palau Nacional Roof Terrace

The Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya offers two rooftop viewpoints, open to the public for just €2. Once you’re up there, you can enjoy great panoramic vistas stretching from the magic fountain of Montjuïc to the breathtaking Sagrada Família in the distance. Round the back of the museum, you can find a third area where you can enjoy the greenery of Montjuïc itself. The Palau Nacional, home to the museum, is stunning on its own, but a trip to the rooftop completes a visit to this monumental site.

Avinguda dels Montanyans, S/N, 08038 Barcelona

Las Arenas Rooftop

Las ArenasThis bullfighting ring turned shopping centre attracts many visitors. If shopping isn’t your thing, we recommend a visit nevertheless as the real treat is the viewpoint from the top of the building. Lined with bars and restaurants surrounded by a large circular platform, this free viewpoint is known for its incredible views of Plaça d’Espanya, Joan Miró’s Woman and Bird sculpture, the Palau Nacional and Montjuïc as well as distant views of the Sagrada Família, the Torre Agbar, and Tibidabo. A great place to rest your legs as you have a break from all that shopping!

Gran Vía de Les Corts Catalanes 373, 08015 Barcelona

Parc GüellParc Guell

A trip to Barcelona isn’t complete without visiting Gaudí’s famous Parc Güell. This classic attraction offers much to see and do and of course, the vie
ws are fantastic. Catch the metro (L3) to Lesseps or Vallarca and then walk or use the rather handy escalators to get you to the park. Once you’re there, you can wander through the trees around the free zone and hike up to the crucifix for a photograph opportunity like no other, or, pay a small fee to enter Gaudí’s decorated area, marveling at his winding bench, multicoloured salamander and gingerbread style gatehouses. Both areas offer incredible views of the city, so be sure make time in your busy Barcelona itinerary to visit Park Güell. Trust us, it’s well worth the climb.

Parc Guëll, 08024 Barcelona

Eclipse Bar, Hotel W

One of the few places where you can view the beach-meets-city views of Barcelona, the Eclipse Bar at the W Hotel, offers unique panoramic views of the city with one of the classiest and trendiest atmospheres. Creative drink menus make the experience all round pretty inviting and though not the cheapest drinks in the city, you’re paying for a whole lot more than a drink in a bar.

Plaça Rosa dels Vents, 1, 08039 Barcelona

Telefèric del PortTeleferic

If you don’t have a fear of heights and want to see Barcelona from one of the more distinctive ways available, the cable car to Montjuïc is just that. The suspended lift travels 101 metres above sea level and takes you from Barceloneta to the top of Montjuïc in 10 minutes. Enjoy views of the whole city from the sky and if you feel like 10 minutes wasn’t enough to capture it all, take advantage of the descent back down so you can enjoy it all again!

Stations: Torre Sant Sebastià; Torre Jaume I; Estación de Miramar in Montjuïc

Towers of La Sagrada Família

Sagrada FamiliaGaudí’s famous Sagrada Família is well known for its incredible architecture and ornate detail, but not many people realise that its towers not only offer the chance to observe Gaudí’s incredible handiwork, but a lift inside the spires means the building also offers magical views of Barcelona. As if you needed any other reason to visit what is probably the city’s most famous attraction, its unbeatable vantage point could just be it.

Carrer de Mallorca, 401, 08013 Barcelona

La Pedrera

In a building where the inside is just as beautiful as the outside, the views from La Pedrera are right up there with its incredible architecture, elaborate rooftop, and detailed ceramic work. While walking the sculpted stairwells, ventilation towers and chimneys, you can admire the city as well through beautiful and colorful windows. Located in the lively sophisticated Eixample neighbourhood, La Pedrera is a more intimate way to see the city while still appreciating its vast size.

Provença, 261-265, 08008 Barcelona
