The Best Places in Barcelona to Watch the 2016 Olympics

Are you in Barcelona whilst the Olympics are on? You can still catch all the action while you’re here. The Olympics begin on the 5th of August this summer in Rio de Janeiro, there are many bars throughout the city showing all the action so that you wont miss a second. Here we give you a list of the best places to enjoy the Olympics in Barcelona this summer.

 

1. The George PayneThe George Payne

The biggest Irish bar in Barcelona, George Payne will be showing most of the Olympic
coverage over the summer. Found next to Urquinaona metro station, the bar is home to two separate floors with many TVs and projectors found throughout so you wont miss a second of action. Inside is a lively atmosphere mixed with friendly Irish staff. Check their Facebook Page out to see what’s going on.

2. Scobies Irish Pub

Scobies Irish PubIrish owned and ran, Scobies keeps the authentic feel of a bar from the Emerald Isle. All major sporting events are shown here, you can even message the owners beforehand to ask to watch a event. No food is served but snacks and coffee are available. Keep up to date with their schedule here.

3. Belushi’sBelushi's

Just off Plaça Catalunya, Belushi’s is not your typical Catalan bar. The spacious bar serves a large range of alcohol and are known for their famous Belushi burgers. Flat screen TVs are located everywhere in the bar so that you can watch all of the Olympics while in Barcelona. Important to also take note that Belushi serves 2 for 1 drinks every day all day until 11pm, so you can enjoy not spending much whilst watching all the sports on offer!

4. 7 Sins

7 SinsLocated centrally in the heart of Barcelona, close to Universitat, is the 7 sins bar. Here you can relax outside on the terrace or catch all the Olympic action on the huge projector located in their basement, with large, comfortable sofas to make your viewing experience even more enjoyable. 7 Sins serves a range of international cuisine that can cater for everyone. The bar offers 2 for 1 cocktails every day 5-9pm so be sure not to miss out!

5. Flaherty’s BarFlaherty’s Bar

Just off Las Ramblas you can find the hugely popular Flaherty’s Bar, this is definitely the bar to go for an entertaining experience. Homemade food is served, as well as a wide range of cocktails and craft beers. You’ll find TVs located all around the bar, so you’ll be able to catch all of the Olympics in a great atmosphere. There’s also the option to call ahead and book a table, especially if you’re coming with a larger group, so you can get the best spot to catch all the sports.

6. The Wild Rover

We have another Irish Bar for you to experience whilst in Barcelona! The Wild Rover can be found just off Las Ramblas. A choice of we beers on tap and over 20 bottled beverages means you won’t be stuck for choice. With two giant HD screens and many TVs found inside, this is one bar guaranteed to be showing the Olympics all day.
